Painted Wallpaper

Yes! You can!

When wallpaper was the craze, it looked great. But now it makes you home look outdated. Peeling wallpaper then painting has several disadvantages in that it is extremely expensive and you have to get all the glue off the walls. If you miss any of the glue, within a year, your paint will start flaking. Not a pretty sight.

We find that painting over the wallpaper is generally your best option even if it is pulling away in some places. Here’s a dining room and foyer that had floral wallpaper galore! We prepped the wallpaper at the seams and corners so everything was smooth. Next we primed the walls and then painted with a latex paint.

The results are fantastic!
