Family Room Makeover

We updated this family room from the 1980’s into a contemporary living space…

This family room was drab and lifeless. The home was built in the 80’s and it looked it. We updated this home by removing the built-in shelves flanking the fireplace and just opened up the area around it. Because there were no light fixtures, the room would often be dark so we installed 4 recessed lights which gave the room a whole new brightness. Next, we painted the walls in flat Accessible Beige and the ceilings flat bright white and installed gorgeous 3/4″ natural hardwood floors.

We cleaned the windows and the fireplace. Then we put a coat of Rejuvenate on the brick and bought a fireplace cover. The family room looks gorgeous and inviting now. The cost was around $7000.
